HACCP Certification.

The HACCP system for managing food safety issues stems from two important developments. The early success of WE Deming's quality control principles is widely regarded as an important factor in the evolution of Japanese product quality in the 1950s. Dr. Deming and his colleagues developed a quality management system (TQM) which emphasises a complete systems approach to manufacturing that improves quality while reducing costs.

The second major breakthrough was the development of the HACCP concept itself. The HACCP concept was developed in the 1960s by Pillsbury, the US military, NASA and NASA to produce safe foods for the US space program. Pillsbury has introduced and adopted HACCP as a system that provides maximum protection while reducing reliance on end product inspection and testing.

Recognizing the importance of HACCP in food control, the 20th Codex Alimentarius meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, adopted Guidelines for the Application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
